Role Players Camp: Historical Charcters at Union Terminal
Description
July 26 - 30, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center at Union Terminal
One-Week Performance Academy
Exploring history is like reading an epic novel that has an endless number of chapters and characters. In partnership with the Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust and Humanity Center at Union Terminal, we’ll make the past come to life by becoming historic role players. Performers will learn theatrical techniques, dress in full costume, write monologues inspired by real stories, and engage in historical research methods to learn how to portray a person from another time and convey their story in an engaging way. Using the history of World War II as our foundation, performers will learn more about significant events and survivors who immigrated to Cincinnati, as well as develop characters through monologues and costume design. On the last day, performers will interact with museum-goers, friends and family during a living history tour of the Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust and Humanity Center.
Ages: Incoming grades 6 - 10
Courses: Historical Research and Interpretation, Costume Design, Character Creation, Acting, Improvisation, and Rehearsal and Performance
Tuition: $245
